Artist's Description

This night time photo of Montezuma's historic train depot has long been a special piece for me. And it's not just because I won an award for it in a local art competition (3rd place - Advanced Amateur - 2007). It was special to me literally while I was taking it.

I was home for the weekend and on a Saturday night I decided to go downtown and take some photos of the old depot. It's always been a special place to me, probably the building I most identify with my home town of Montezuma.

As I was standing there taking long exposures of the car lights streaking past the old depot, I had an unexpected conversation with a stranger from across the street. She wondered what on earth I was doing taking photos of the depot and I explained it just looked pretty, especially with the street lights around it.
