The iconic "Big Ben" against a backdrop of fireworks - brilliant fun colors and a memorable piece of art. Big Ben is of course, actually the bell, as any Anglophile will tell you. And it always has been. The tower was in relatively recent times named the Elizabeth Tower in honor of Queen Elizabeth II. The Palace of Westminster burned in the 1800's and was rebuilt. It may surprise some to know that Big Ben dates to this period. It was part of the Gothic Revival rebuilding of the palace that houses Parliament.
