Description
There's just something about the beach isn't there? Or at least for those of us who love the sea, there's an indescribable feeling to smelling the salt air and feeling the beach sand beneath our toes. Sigh...
When I knew my trip to Mexico was going to end near Cancun, I knew I had to make the trip down to Playa del Carmen. I had heard good things about this little stretch of Caribbean beach. And while it has an unquestionably touristy side to it when compared to some of the remote beaches I've visited, there was plenty of natural beauty to enjoy!
Whenever I find myself on a beach, I seem to find myself photographing the boats, particularly when they are bright and colorful like the ones in Mexico tend to be. This scene from Playa del Carmen is based on a photo from my very first afternoon on the beach. I loved the great afternoon sun hitting the boat and beach sands. This vignette felt like a classic scene of beach life, hene the vintage feel I went for, like a postcard from a long-remembered visit to the beach from decades ago.
