Photograph - Restored Vintage Color Photo By Alfred T. Palmer
Description
Restored color photograph by Alfred T Palmer for the Office Of War Information during World War II. This particular image really jumped out at me, not just because of the beautiful vintage color but the depiction of life on the homefront during WWII.
The young woman seen here circa 1943 is working on the paint for a plane being manufactured in the Vultee Aircraft factory in Nashville, TN. This dive bomber was manufactured for the US Army Air Forces. At the time of WWII, the Air Force was still part of the Army. It would remain so from it's formation in 1941 until 1947 following the war.
