Description
There's something timeless about piers extending into the water. I've said before that I think it's a subject that hearkens back to our distant collective past. Long ago, there were ceremonial piers extending into bodies of water that were considered sacred. They were in metaphorical senses bridges between the land and another world. Today a simple fishing pier can stir those same sort of primeval memories in our souls. The one seen here is the pier at Pensacola Beach as the sun sets over the beautiful Gulf Of Mexico.
