Description
The main courtyard of the Louvre, the Cour Napoleon, is an exciting mix of architecture ranging from the French Renaissance architecture of the original palace all the way to the quite contemporary architecture of the glass pyramid that now serves as the entrance to the world famous museum.
Personally I love the eclectic mix of styles. It's one of my favorite things about some old world European cities, that they aren't afraid to mix classic architecture from centuries ago with cutting edge postmodern designs. After all, their cities are living places not living history museums.
I really felt the lines of that modern architecture was a good fit to use my fisheye lens. It exaggerates the distances and gives an almost organic shape to the the lines of the Napoleon courtyard. A very playful look at some seriously fun architecture!
