There are a handful of places I've seen and photographed on each and every trip. It simply wouldn't seem like I had been to London if I didn't at least see Tower Bridge, easily one of the city's major landmarks, so much so that many tourists think that it's 'London Bridge' which is further up the river and not nearly so beautiful.

Tower Bridge is an impressive piece of Victorian engineering and style. It was built to look like a much older bridge because the Tower of London is nearby and the Victorians wanted Tower Bridge to complement it. In some ways, I have to say Tower Bridge is the more impressive structure from an artistic perspective. Granted the Tower of London is not only much older but was for more utilitarian.

I have been very lucky with the light I had on several of my trips to London, but on this particular afternoon, it was a really strong and warm glow as you can see. But the ultimate stroke of luck was as I was standing there, I heard a plane in the distance. I lined up my shot and waited for this moment... click...
