In Rome, Christmas doesn't end on Christmas day, it's just beginning! I spent New Years in Rome several years ago and saw the Epiphany celebrated later in Sorrento. It felt like the holidays would never end!
Thus was my view of the base of the Spanish steps in the Piazza di Spagna on a winter night in Rome. The rain wasn't dampening the spirits but you can see a flock of umbrellas in the plaza surrounding the fountains! All the holiday lights and cheer, though, seemed to drown out the damp and the cold and the bird's eye view from up above told a memorable story of winter in the Eternal City!
