Artist's Description

In most of the decent sized cities I've visited in Mexico, there's a lovingly maintained Cathedral inhabiting the Zocalo, or main plaza of the city. In Puebla, it was no different. I was in Puebla less than 24 hours, but the beautiful cathedral was literally a block away and I found my way there as soon as I saw the massive bell towers standing above the skyline. Aren't those bell towers amazingly tall?

The church was begun in the 16th century and finished in the 17th, and is a beautiful example of the baroque influence in Spanish Colonial architecture. I definitely look at this rambling church and have no question that it must be from the streets of a Mexican City, you know?

I was on a timeline during this particular visit to Mexico, but it was a stop in Peubla that convinced me I must see more of the beautiful colonial architecture of this town some day.

About Mark Tisdale

Mark Tisdale

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple. My body of work is wide ranging from photographic scenes of far away places, more near and dear locations, and more fanciful artwork. It's all crafted with a heartfelt love for finding the beauty in little captured moments. My artwork also hangs on walls near and far from private homes to businesses who have chosen to decorate with my art. Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
