Description
On my first visit to Boston, I knew virtually nothing of the local landscape. I knew the highlights, of course. Boston is, after all, a central character in American history. But when i spied this beautiful old clock tower, I was sure it held some significance to the city's history and had to capture it.
As I often seem to do, I learn about the places I see in reverse. Later I would look up the clock tower and discover that it was Boston's Custom House. Once upon a time, before the harbor area was built up, the old custom house was literally on the docks. That was long ago as you can tell!
Don't you love Boston's skyline? I love the mixture of new and old architecture. The result is an eclectic vibe you really only find in old cities.
