My time in San Cristobal De Las Casas was entirely too brief, but what I saw was beautiful and, of course, colorful. My first afternoon in Chiapas was overcast and gray, but as you can tell the second day was filled with sun and picturesque skies!

On an aimless wander through the city enjoying the beautiful afternoon, I spotted this golden yellow building and just had to stop to appreciate the cheerful colors.

My favorite part of this street scene from San Cristobal De Las Casas, though has always been the natural framing at work. I loved how the shadows reached across the street in an almost mirror formation to the clouds above. It just felt like all the elements of the scene were pointing or guiding my eyes to that little taste of Chiapas architecture. It certainly wouldn't have the same flavor with a clear blue sky.

Life is full of happy surprises. After just over a decade working in the 9 to 5 cube world, I threw caution to the wind to follow my dreams of being a full time visual artist. That was five years ago! Is it easy? No, but something truly worthwhile is rarely simple.
