The Fox Theatre is a true landmark in Atlanta. It opened in 1929 and narrowly escaped the wrecking ball in the 1970s. The fact the Fabulous Fox was nearly lost led to a rise in local interest for saving some of the character of Old Atlanta as the city boomed in size at the end of the 20th century. The marquee for the Fabulous Fox is truly iconic and one of those things any one from Atlanta and probably Georgia as a whole, will recognize.
