Description
On my first evening in Dublin, I had already found Trinity College, and I had a feeling the college with all those wet cobblestones in Parliament Square might make for some interesting photos.
Sure enough, I was happily greeted with the sight you see in this photo of the 18th century chapel at Trinity College. Don't you love how the warm lights and street lamps reflect on the wet pavement? I love how the gold contrasts with the blue in the dusk sky and the blues in the masonry. It's such a tranquil and balanced scene to me.
I don't recall what photography book I read it in years ago, but they mentioned not being afraid of a little wet weather, particularly the way light would reflect off of wet surfaces. I hope I would have realized it on my own eventually anyway, but that advice has served me well on many winter trips to Europe over the years!
Trinity College is an historic Irish college founded in 1592, but most of the architecture you encounter there is, like the chapel seen here, 18th century and later.
