My only experience with Dublin to date was in December and January, the midst of one of the coldest winters in decades no less. And I still loved it and look back fondly on my aimless wandering along the streets of that old city.
O'Connell street, seen here, was one of my main haunts. I loved this wide open boulevard, supposedly the widest street in Europe. And I loved that it was perfectly oriented to the sun in winter which streamed sunlight up the street (if any sun was to be had). On this particular day the skies were still a bit moody, but there was still great light to be had. I love that contrast between the brooding sky and the sun filled street. But it's still, by the dress of the people and the absence of greenery, quite obviously winter.
I can feel a chill in my bones but my feet still itch to go back when I look at this photo of lovely O'Connell Street in Dublin, Ireland.
