Description
My last night in Dublin was bittersweet. I was sad to leave, but I had one of my best nights as far as my photography went. The skies had been clear all day which made for an incredibly colorful dusk. Just check out the dusk blue skies over the Custom House and Liberty Hall!
I stayed not far from this location, so there's a certain sentimental feeling for me, of remembering the trains rumble over those very same tracks crossing the river on the left hand side, of recognizing that skyscraper from a distance and using it to guide me 'home'.
The Dublin Custom House was finished in the late 18th century. And as the ports have moved further down river since, it feels a bit out of place today, but it's a beautiful piece of neoclassic architecture to see, isn't it?
I've recently read that Liberty Hall, the 1960's skyscraper on the left is slated to be demolished and replaced. Not calling Dublin home, I can't express much emotion for that, but such is life in big cities, the skyline is ever-changing, and soon my photo of the skyline at dusk will be quaint.
Ah, but doesn't that dusk blue look lovely in the water? I think that's the big story here!
