Description
On my second trip to Boston, I ended up staying in the Brookline neighborhood near Harvard. It was a very neat taste of what it's like to live in metro Boston. Although there was a collection of small hotels and B&Bs, it was very much a neighborhood filled with locals.
When I spotted Coolidge Corner at night, I instantly fell in love with the art deco feeling of that building on the corner. I've never managed to dig up much detail about its history, but the neighborhood dates back to the mid 20th century, so it's comparatively quite modern in the grand scheme of things!
I stood on the corner opposite the Coolidge Corner sign for quite awhile, working to take a photo of the street scene in front of it that most reminded me of standing there on a winter night, and that's when the Harvard bus stopped there and provided what I felt was a perfect opportunity to capture the local flavor. Bingo!
