Description
The old McKenzie home on North Dooly has a really classical old Southern feel about it. Many might think it's a piece of antebellum architecture, but the old Neoclassical home was built in 1901 in the Greek Revival style. By the early 1900's, the area was riding a boom as farmers had started growing peaches in greater numbers in addition to cotton. And by the turn of the century, Montezuma was home to a growing textile industry. This local landmark is a surviving piece of evidence for those prosperous years.
