Description
The title for this piece comes from Max Ehrmann's poem, Desdirata. And that's because the original version of this was used as a backdrop to the poem itself for those that love the inspiration it provides. But as is often the case, when I was done, I liked the image behind it too much and did a little final finesse to offer it solo.
I love the idea behind "Child Of The Universe" as it very much reminds me of Carl Sagan's explanation of how we are all made of "star stuff" - although in my mind I always remember his quote as being stardust. Tomato, Tomatoe! The idea that everything around us is made of the same cosmological stuff fills me with an odd sense of balance that I hope appeals to you as well. This is a piece that, to me, has a very spiritual Buddhist vibe.
