When I lived in North Fulton County, really escaping the city for pictures using the beautiful light of early morning was no always possible. Well, I did it, but it meant getting up many hours before sunrise. Not easy!
But I was lucky that there were some incredibly well preserved areas along the beautiful Chattahoochee River. I could sleep in and still get up in time to drive down to the river and capture the beautiful colors of the trees and the skies of North Georgia. One of my favorite subjects will always, I suspect, be water reflections. There's just something magical and almost impressionistic about seeing the world reflected in a puddle of water.
Of course, the Chattahoochee is a mighty big puddle! So much so that I suspect people who don't know the river would look at this scene and think it was a pond or lake rather than a really old and wide river with such big bends in it that it has a gentle feel to it.
