Description
I always find it intriguing the journey we make as photographers and artists. When I first began, I would patiently wait for people to leave the scene, and sometimes, depending on what we want to highlight, that can be effective, but I also have grown to see people as being an entry point for the viewer, a way for that person to put themselves in the scene.
Considering that journey, I would not have taken a photo like this at my outset, I would have never sat on the Millennium Bridge patiently waiting for various people to hit the mark and for me to snap the shutter. Although it doesn't look like there was a long stream of people at this moment, there had been. But of all those candid shots, this was my favorite. I love the lines of the bridge, the unmistakable Skyline of London with the great dome of St Paul's Cathedral, and of course the two ladies making their way to the south bank of the Thames.
True street photography is still something I struggle with doing, but every so often I have an image like this one that truly resonates with me and makes me want to explore this genre more.
