Description
If you wander through my photos of Puebla, you'll find several of this same street from different angles. I was fascinated by Puebla in general. There were so many colorful old buildings near the city's historic core, and many of them were newly painted and fresh, but this block showed its age. Actually, I would say it wore it with a sort of pride. Look at those brilliant colors and those rough walls.
Puebla's core is a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site due to its historic Spanish Colonial buildings. Is this one? I'm not sure, but it certainly has teh style and the thick old walls. It looks like it's been here for centuries to me!
I can't recall if I walked by here soon after or before lunch, but you can see the street is filled with little restaurants. Had I been here longer, I'm sure I would have succumbed to the desire to try them all out!
Ultimately, I just loved this calm but colorful street scene in Puebla. It felt like an everyday slice of Mexico complete with people going about the business of living their lives in a beautiful old city, but nonetheless their home. Puebla, I'll be back!
