Description
I doubt many people have traveled to Dublin, Ireland, without at least wandering through the famous Temple Bar neighborhood.
Temple Bar is one of those stories of renaissance or urban renewal so common to large urban cities. At one point this was a terribly low rent district. Artists moved in and it soon became a bustling center, the place to be. And things have come full circle that the neighborhood is no longer low rent or a place for struggling artists.
But it is a vibrant neighborhood and a fun place to wander. This was where I spent my last night in Dublin, wandering, taking photos of the people and places that make up Temple Bar. This photo of 'The Temple Bar' was taken with my Fisheye lens. It of course distorts reality somewhat, but I love the feeling and this has quickly become my most popular photo on offer from my time in Ireland.
There's something about the fishbowl distortion that almost makes it feel three dimensional. I've had more than one person look at this picture and remember their time in Dublin, remember standing here and almost feel as if they could step through and re-live their time in beautiful Dublin.
