On my last day in Italy I took a long aimless walk through the city. It seems in Rome even on a walk with no purpose you stumble over history.
I thought this fountain in Piazza Barberini was quite striking in the winter sun. Turns out that it was by the famous baroque sculptor, Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
Perhaps the name on the top of the hotel in the background should have been a clue?
This is the Triton Fountain from the 17th century. So happy to have stumbled across a little piece of Italian art history on my last walk in that beautiful country.
