Description
One of the things that Puebla is known for is its Talavera tiles. You will find a lot of domes and facades around the city covered in beautiful tile work. How I would love to document these more thoroughly some day. Of the ones I did capture, this was my favorite. The tile-work is plain compared to some, but I loved the simple basket-weave pattern of the tiles and their beautiful terracotta red color against that vivid blue sky above! Can you pick my favorite colors simply by the images I capture with my camera? I think so!
I also loved the white trim-work so well matched by the fluffy white cloud curling over the front of this beautiful building in Puebla de Zaragoza. There's just something about the synchronicity of such a close match of the white mingling with the red and blue. It feels like it pulls the image together for me.
It's also a complete street scene with cars and people and all the signs of life in a busy city. From my brief encounter, Puebla seemed to be a bustling place. Perhaps all the more reason I'd like to re-visit this Mexican city some day. Or perhaps I'm simply fishing for excuses to go back when I need no reason other than I wish to return to Puebla. Simple enough, eh?
