Artist's Description

I am 90% certain that the beautiful Irish beach in this photo is Fanore Beach on the Western coast of Ireland in County Clare. However, I welcome someone correcting me on this! For the longest time I referred to this simply as the mystery beach. All I knew was that our bus left Galway and after this we visited the Cliffs of Moher, but there's a lot of coastline to rule out.

Flash forward a couple of years. I had posted this photo on several message boards and finally a couple of people said they thought it was probably the beach near the village of Fanore. That beach is known for its golden sands. Sure enough when I looked at photos online that were from Fanore they bore a striking resemblance!

What I do know was that it was an incredibly beautiful beach. I'll never forget our bus pulling into for a stop. The skies were somewhat overcast, but the light was really scrumptious. I was one of the first off the bus and absolutely the last person back on. I try hard not to...
