On our last full day in Sorrento, we made our way to Capri for the afternoon. It was the perfect combination of beauty and history to fit the bill or me and a friend with whom I was traveling.
What I'll never forget about Capri, aside from the gorgeous Mediterranean location was the hills. The island as you can see is basically one large hill. Once you depart in the dock whatever you want to see will mean walking up hill and since we were bound for Villa Jovis, vacation home for Emperor Tiberius, we were climbing all the way to the top!
Every so often, we had to stop though to take in the vistas! I guess this explains why Capri has been a resort islands since the times of the Roman Republic doesn't it?
When I look at that beautiful sunlight, I'm still amazed this was winter! One day, I will find my way back to this gorgeous little piece of land in the sea off the Italian coast. I must!
