Description
Scenic view of the beautiful Split Rock Lighthouse on a sunny autumn day complete with brilliant fall foliage. This lighthouse was built in 1910, designed by lighthouse engineer, Ralph Russell Tinkham. The light was erected in response to a 1905 storm that resulted in 29 ships wrecked on Lake Superior. The lighthouse was retired in the 1960s bur remains a beautiful part of the Split Rock Lighthouse State Park on the North Shore of Lake Superior.
