Description
Compared to some larger cities, Atlanta is much more spread out. Skyscrapers even in the urban core are still special creatures unlike a city like New York of densely packed high rise buildings. When I left Atlanta, the Bank of America tower, seen on the right, built in 1992, was still the tallest building in the city. I'm uncertain if that's changed but a bit of a switch from cities where new and taller buildings go up on a regular basis.
It does tend to give the city skyline a bit of continuity and may account for my taking a somewhat vintage, distressed approach to this black and white photo looking over the Midtown skyline from the Westin Plaza.
