Artist's Description

A fun vintage style design of the Alabama Theatre marquee in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. This historic theater was built in the 1920s, and like many movie palaces from the era, its star declined in the later 20th century. There were once a host of other movie palaces and stages in the neighborhood surrounding the Alabama Theatre, but it's the only one that survived until today, saved and refurbished by concerned citizens.

The Historic American Building Commission documented the building for the US Government in the 1990s which included architectural drawings which this work was based upon.

Whether you've purchased one piece or a house full or you simply admire and share with your friends, your patronage of my art is...
